Frequently asked questions

Is tinyurls.online really free?

Yes. There are no paid plans. Shortening links, bulk shortening, and the optional account are all free.

Do I need an account to shorten a link?

No. Anyone can shorten a link without signing up. A free account is optional: create one only if you want to keep a private list of your links, see click counts, and choose custom aliases.

Do short links expire?

We do not put an expiry date on links. A link stays active until its owner deletes it, or until we remove it for breaking our rules (for example malware or phishing). If we ever close the service we will give notice first.

What do you record when someone clicks a short link?

Only a counter: the total clicks and clicks per day for that link. We do not store the visitor's IP address, browser details, or cookies in click statistics. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs for security, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Can other people see my links or my click counts?

No. Your list and statistics are visible only when you are logged in to your account. Anyone who has a short URL can follow it, so share it only with people you want to reach the destination.

How many links can I shorten at once?

The bulk shortener accepts up to 20 URLs per submission. To prevent abuse, creation is rate-limited per hour.

Can I choose my own short link name?

Yes, with a free account. A custom alias is 3 to 40 characters long and may use letters, numbers, dashes and underscores, as long as it is not already taken.

Can I change where a short link points?

No. The destination of a link never changes after it is created, which keeps links trustworthy for the people who click them. You can delete a link from your account and create a new one.

Which links are not allowed?

Links to malware, phishing pages, scams, illegal content, or other URL shorteners are not allowed. You can report a short link on the Report abuse page and we will review it.

How do I delete my account and my data?

Log in, open Account, and choose Delete account. Your account, your links and their click statistics are erased immediately. You can also download all of your data first.
